Introducing the Construction Industry Preparation Skill Set

After extensive advocacy efforts, Equip-Safe (RTO code 2394) has secured approval from the Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD) to offer the brand-new Construction Industry Preparation Skill Set, fee-free under the state government’s Skills Ready initiative.

As the only Registered Training Organisation approved to offer this skill set in WA, Equip-Safe is delivering this fully government-funded, nationally recognised training, ensuring that workers across multiple industries can gain critical skills without financial barriers.

Critical training to boost skills in multiple industries

The Construction Industry Preparation Skill Set provides essential training for individuals seeking employment in electrotechnology, construction, plumbing and services, renewables and clean energies, and the resources, mining, and infrastructure industries.

This two-day course includes four core nationally recognised units of competency:

CPCCCM3001 Operate Elevated Work Platforms up to 11 metres – Learn how to operate scissor lifts and self-propelled boom lifts (under 11m) safely and effectively.

RIIHAN301E Operate Elevating Work Platforms – Gain essential skills to use elevating work platforms at any height in compliance with national safety standards.

RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights – Learn how to assess risks, use fall protection systems, and work safely at heights.

CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in Construction ( White Card) – Complete mandatory WHS induction training required for all construction sites.
