Western Power has confirmed that the use of fibreglass (stub) poles is accepted
Western Power can confirm that FRP poles are accepted when they are installed by a licensed electrical contractor in accordance with AS/NZS 3000:2018 and the WAER.
This satisfies “all reasonable precautions” in s.25(1)(a) and (b) of the Electricity Act 1945 since the electrical contractor completing the installation is confirming this by the submission of the required notices and electrical safety certificates, as per Electricity (Licensing) Regulations 1991.
Should however, any electrical installation(s) be identified by the network operator as to be unsafe, the supply would not be connected to, or disconnected, from the network.

Note: Horizon Power are not accepting the use of fibreglass poles, and if used, this will trigger an inspection order.
