Updated UDS manual now available

The latest, 12th edition of the Underground Distribution Schemes (UDS) Manual, has been released by Western Power, detailing essential updates for network administration, design, and installation within land development and subdivision projects in Western Australia.

Effective from July 1, 2024, this edition, enriched with over 600 feedback submissions, internal workshops, and industry forums, includes new guidelines for existing overhead network assets, updated developer responsibilities, and an enhanced focus on network safety and reliability.

These changes, spearheaded by Western Power’s Head of Grid Transformation, Ben Bristow, follow extensive consultations with key stakeholders like the Urban Development Institute of Australia and the Property Council of Australia. A two-month transition period will support industry professionals in adapting to the new requirements.
