Updated guidelines: Safe working guidelines for electrical workers and apprentices

The Safe working guidelines for electrical workers and apprentices were updated in early February 2025, reinforcing essential electrical safety practices for workers and effective supervision requirements for apprentices.
These updates aim to enhance workplace safety and ensure apprentices receive the appropriate level of supervision as they develop their skills.
Key updates include:
- Employer responsibilities for supervising electrical workers and apprentices.
- Limits on the number of apprentices a supervisor can oversee at any given time.
- Supervision requirements for provisional licence holders.
To help the industry understand these changes, Building and Energy will provide detailed insights at their 2025 Electrical Roadshows. Electrical professionals are encouraged to attend a session to stay informed, click here to register for a location near you.
