Dual-sided panels and light-coloured roofs maximise household solar efficiency by over 20%

A recent study has highlighted new ways to increase the productivity of residential rooftop systems by over 20%. These findings could prove beneficial to businesses aiming to enhance their offerings to clients.

  • Bifacial solar modules could lift output by 22.6 per cent compared to monofacial solar modules
  • Bifacial panels work best with a 45° angle tilt to allow more sunlight to be reflected on to the back panel
  • Rooftop reflectivity is a critical factor in maximising the potential of bifacial solar panels
  • Light coloured rooftops are better able to reflect sunlight on to the back of a solar module
