Health and Safety Management System
A Health and Safety Management System is a systematic approach to managing health and safety risks in a workplace. The Health and Safety Certified System with NECA will assist all members to continually improve their safety performance and compliance to health and safety legislation and standards.
The NECA Health and Safety Management System is a certified system and accredited by TQCSI, a JAZ/ANZ Accredited Certification Company. The management system comprises of sixteen elements ensuring documentation satisfies all the elements to fully meet the requirements of AS 4801:2001 OHS Management Systems. The management system covers two fundamental elements of most workplace health and safety legislation:
- That employers provide and maintain a safe working environment without risk.
- That employees take reasonable care for the health and safety aspect of their Duty of Care.
The Australian Standard 4801:2001 is used as a benchmark to assess health and safety management systems within organisations.
