Updated Basic Embedded Generator Connection Technical Requirements

Western Power's Basic Embedded Generator (EG) Connection Technical Requirements apply from 1 July 2025. It's important to understand how to apply the technical requirements for this standard on all basic embedded generator system installations.  

Key changes include:

• Maximum capacity limits;
• Generation limits; and
• Phase balancing requirements.

Western Power are committed to ensuring Distributed Energy Resources (DER) systems are connected safely and work to provide equitable access to the network for all Users such that Users with equivalent standard connection services have consistent EG system requirements.
