Federal Electrical Wage Bulletin 24 - updated 1 January 2025

Effective 1 January 2025, certain minimum rates payable to employees under the Federal Electrical Award as well as the contribution rate payable under the Construction Industry Portable Paid Long Service Leave Act have increased. These updates reflect changes to align with updated industry standards and regulations.

Key changes to the Federal Electrical Award

The following rates within the Electrical, Electronic and Communications Contracting Award 2020 have been increased

  • Electrical Worker Grade 1 rates.

  • Mature Age Apprentice Rates for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years.

Employers and employees should review these changes to ensure compliance and proper payroll adjustments.

Construction industry contribution rate increase

Under the Construction Industry Portable Paid Long Service Leave Act 1985, the contribution rate has increased to 0.75%. This change impacts employers within the construction industry, requiring updates to contributions for eligible employees.
