The best Western Australia (WA) electrical and communications contractors and apprentices were recognised at the annual electrical industry Excellence and Apprentice Awards hosted by peak Australian industry body the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA).

In the Excellence Awards, NECA WA awarded ten major awards with a record number of nominations and in the Apprentice Awards there were six award recipients. Finalists were presented in front of 515 industry representatives including contractors, suppliers, educators and government representatives at the pinnacle showcase of the electrical and communications industry at Crown, Perth.

NECA WA also had the opportunity to present Stephen Cole with the Life Membership Award for his involvement with NECA for over 22 consecutive years and the Apprentice Awards were presented by the Hon.
