Safety is a core value of ECA WA

As part of this endeavour, we have a range of services, programs and policies designed to maintain and improve the safety of everyone connected to ECA WA - from our members, apprentices and host employers, to every person who trains at CET or Equip-Safe.

Safety advice and support

Our experienced safety team provides members with Work Health and Safety services, resources and specialist advice.

ECA WA’s No Harm vision shows that we are uncompromising in our commitment to the health, safety and welfare of our employees, customers and community. It is our driving force and is fundamental to the way we work.

Mates in Construction

ECA WA is a proud supporter and partner of Mates in Construction. An Industry-backed, research-based, suicide prevention and support for the construction industry operating since 2008.

Safety Awards

Our commitment to safety has been recognised through a range of awards and nominations, including:

  • EGT | Received the Worksafe Platinum award for safety in 2023.
  • EGT | Won the WHS Management Award – Large category at the WHS Foundation’s 2022 WHS Awards. This award acknowledges EGT’s commitment to providing a safe and healthy workplace and environment, maintaining a positive safety and health culture and developing systems that produce a capable and competent workforce.
  • EGT | Finalist in the WHS Promotion & Program Award category at the WHS Foundation’s 2022 WHS Awards for their Incident Reduction Program.
  • CET | Received the Worksafe Platinum award for safety in 2020.

Sharing Site Strategies is a specialised initiative launched in late 2023, dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of electricians in Western Australia, and enhancing the overall safety and well-being of those across our industry.

ECA WA is a separate entity from the WA Branch of the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA WA) and operates under a Service Level Agreement to provide technical and safety services to WA members. All members of NECA WA automatically receive ECA WA membership at time of joining.

The Service Level Agreement between ECA WA and NECA WA is ending on 30 June 2024. As a valued member, you may be wondering how this may affect you.
